Coventry City’s recently abandoned match against Sheffield Wednesday will now take place on Tuesday February 19.

Sheffield Wednesday’s official website states that holders of ticket stubs for the game need to present them in order to qualify for a reduced rate of £5 adults and £1 concessions to see the re-arranged fixture. (The Sky Blues website as of Tuesday afternoon makes no mention of this).

No refunds will be given either which will affect people who cannot make it back to Sheffield on a Tuesday night, not to mention the travel costs and potential time off work involved.

  • Obviously there are costs involved but again it’s the fans who have to fork out. This could be a decent opportunity for the new City regime to spread some goodwill and offer refunds for people who cannot make the game.

  • its a disgrace. i am boycotting it and i am a season ticket holder who they are asking to pay as well. they should be ashamed of them selfs.

  • no one should be surprised. The clubs do not give a damn. The only language they understand is money so let us hope there is a massive boycott. I attended the game and would like my money back.

  • This could be one of the lowest crowds at Hillsborough for some time. Totaly wrong what they are doing but Wednesday wouldn’t have been the only club to do it. 99% of other clubs in the division would have charged for the re-arranged game.

  • This is stupid, but it is in Wednesday’s fans charter that all abandoned games will be charged at half price, so they probably feel like they’re giving us something… Oh and mick, season ticket holders don’t have to pay again, that would be unthinkable!
