Coventry City are in talks with experienced former Northern Ireland international Michael Hughes over a one-year deal according to Wednesday’s Daily Mirror.
Hughes is out of contract at Crystal Palace and well-known to City boss Iain Dowie.
Such a signing would fit in with Tim Flowers’ comments about City currently shopping for free transfers and loan signings.
Another reported target, Lee Hendrie, has been offered £20,000-a-week by Leicester City according to stories elsewhere on Wednesday, a figure that the Sky Blues could not match at present (if they wanted to).
