Coventry City take on Notts County on the opening day of the League Two season and their opponents have moved to strengthen their squad this week with the double-signing of Nicky Hunt and Elliot Hodge.

33-year-old Hunt, known chiefly for his time as a Bolton Wanderers player where he made nearly 130 league appearances, brings vast experience to Meadow Lane, the right-back having shown during pre-season that he retains the fitness and hunger needed for a season in the 46-game slog that is League Two football.

He will also be hoping for a calmer place to play his football after enduring the crazy goings-on at Leyton Orient last season.

Hodge, a winger, is at the opposite end of his career but has also impressed manager Kevin Nolan over the past few weeks and the 21-year-old makes a return to the club where he was formerly a trainee.
