Colchester United became the first club to be relegated from the Championship on Wednesday night after Barnsley’s 3-0 win at Watford.

‘Everybody at this club will see off this season with as many wins as we can and over the summer work hard to come out fighting next year,’ boss Geraint Williams told BBC Radio Essex.

Leicester City now lie in the bottom three after Barnsley’s win but boss Ian Holloway is defiant ahead of a home game with Colchester.

‘We’re in this situation but it’s nothing a couple of wins won’t put right,’ he told BBC Radio Leicester.

‘I believe we can get a couple of wins, I believe we will and I want the fans to believe that.’
