Norwich City manager Nigel Worthington was left less than impressed with Leon McKenzie after he demanded a deadline day move away from Carrow Road.
Coventry City’s £1m move for the 28-year-old looked to have hit the rocks when Bristol City sold David Cotterill to Wigan Athletic rather than Norwich.
McKenzie, who had earlier handed in a transfer request, reiterated his desire to leave and Worthington said: ‘We looked after him very well here and I wanted to keep him.
‘But he said he didn’t want to come back and play for us.
‘I don’t think that’s the right way to treat the fans of a football club.’
