Although Andy Thorn stated in the wake of Coventry City’s relegation from the Championship that he has been asked to remain as manager next season, a club statement, issued just hours after the Sky Blues’ fate was sealed, has promised a ‘major review and restructure’ of all aspects of the operation.

The statement, which can be read here, says that ‘not one part of the club will be immune’ as the review looks to continue what acting chief executive Tim Fisher calls a ‘process of recovery’ which began at the turn of the year.

After the unedifying sight of the club’s security personnel battling with their own supporters as the Doncaster game came to an end, relations between supporters and the boardroom are at an all-time low.

The club statement lists the clubs who have dropped into the third tier and bounced back stronger over the past decade but Coventry City seem a long way from being able to ‘do a Norwich’ next season.
