No end in sight to Sky Blue woe

Coventry City’s season lurched from bad to worse on Saturday afternoon, a 2-0 defeat by Tranmere Rovers leaving the Sky Blues off the bottom of League One by virtue of goal difference alone.

As with the defeats against Crewe and Stevenage under the caretaker charge of Richard Shaw this game could have gone either way but the lack of goals told once again as late strikes from Cassidy and Robinson settled things for the home side.

Shaw may get one more chance to lead the side when they travel to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night but his chance to become Andy Thorn’s permanent successor has surely become more remote after this misery on Merseyside for City’s long suffering supporters.
