Coventry City new-boy Wayne Andrews is aiming to show he can play at Championship level after a frustrating spell at Crystal Palace that saw him restricted to just five first-team starts in two seasons.

‘I know I can play in this league but I wasn’t given a chance,’ he told www.icsouthlondon.co.uk.

‘It was hard because I was competing with Clinton Morrison and Jon Macken for a place alongside Andy Johnson.

‘I would have had to score two or three goals to keep my place in the side which wasn’t easy.

‘I scored one goal in 40 appearances but most of them were as a substitute for the last five minutes.’
