‘Nearly’ Not Enough For Sky Blues

Yeovil gained a huge result in the race for a League One play-off place as they triumphed by a single goal at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday afternoon.

A hugely frustrating week for the Sky Blues saw them turn in yet another display in front of goal that left manager Mark Robins tearing his hair out at a ‘nearly’ performance from his team.

Although Robins was disappointed at the manner of Yeovil’s goal, which came from an attacking position for the home side, his post-match gripes were with the amount of play City had in front of goal and how little they did with it.

“We just need that extra bit of quality now, somebody to put their foot on the ball, somebody to find a pass because things have changed.

“You can see that teams are coming here and parking the bus in front of the goal and we have to be cleverer and we have to work harder to find a goal.”

Flair players McSheffrey, Moussa and Baker all had plenty of the ball but struggled to create clear-cut chances, Leon Clarke struggled to make an impact and only Stephen Elliott of the frontmen looked capable of getting a goal.

Two big games in which the Sky Blues had the majority of the ball, corners galore and a host of opportunities have now been and gone with counter-attacking goals conceded only adding to the frustration being felt by the manager, players and supporters.
