Coventry City manager Micky Adams believes Leeds United have made a good decision in making Dennis Wise their new manager.

‘A fantastic appointment,’ was his verdict on the move made by one the clubs he played for during his career.

‘If there’s anybody that can handle that scenario it’s Dennis Wise.’

Adams added: ‘There’s a big rivalry between Leeds United and Chelsea stretching back many years but Ken Bates is a strong chairman.

‘He decided that Dennis was the ideal candidate for the job and I’m sure they’ll become a formidable double act in the coming months and years.

‘I took a brave decision when I brought Dennis here as a player and I’m sure Mr Bates is thinking the same thing, that he can do a job for them.

‘He won over the Coventry fans with his performances on the pitch. He’s not playing now so he’s got to make sure his team performs, like we all have.

‘Leeds have under-achieved this year, but with the players they’ve got, they can only improve.’

Former Sky Blues centre-half Ady Williams has taken caretaker charge at Swindon after Wise’s departure.
