McSheffrey off in friendly defeat

Gary McSheffrey was sent off during Coventry City’s final pre-season friendly against Boavista on Saturday evening.

The striker, a transfer target for Birmingham City, was red carded after a scuffle in the first half of the game, which ended in a 2-1 win for the Portuguese side.

New signing Wayne Andrews scored the Sky Blues’ goal.
