Ex-Coventry City manager Gary McAllister believes another one-time Sky Blues boss, Gordon Strachan, will be a wanted man in the Premiership this time next year.

McAllister, newly-appointed as an ambassador for the Clydesdale Bank SPL, told the Sunday Mail: ‘I see Gordon returning to the Premiership.

‘He managed two provincial sides in Coventry and Southampton but is now at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

‘He has managed Celtic’s wage bill superbly and attracted younger players, mostly Scottish ones.

‘In that time he has won two SPL titles, two cups and reached the last 16 of the Champions League. I don’t know what else he can do.’
