Sources near and far to Coventry City Football Club have led on Wednesday morning with the news that Mark Robins will become the new manager at the Ricoh Arena.

The former Manchester United and Norwich City striker will take on his third managerial role after spells in South Yorkshire with Rotherham United and Barnsley.

He comes into a side who are separated from the bottom of the League One table on goals scored only and who have lost their four league games, culminating in Tuesday night’s 4-1 reverse at the hands of Shrewsbury Town.

More to come on Robins’ appointment later today on Vital Coventry.
