Middlesbrough have agreed a fee to sign long-term target Lukas Jutkiewicz from Championship rivals Coventry City.

The 22-year-old striker has scored 18 goals in 69 games following his move from Everton in July 2010.

‘He’s not a Middlesbrough player yet, a deal is never done until it’s done,’ boss Tony Mowbray told BBC Tees.

‘People have to sanction the deal, but there are conversations going on and hopefully in the next 24 hours we’ll have some positive news.’

Most Sky Blue fans will wish him well as he has been a terrific player for Coventry City and always gave 100% for the club. Wonder what the odds will be on January 21st when Middlesbrough visit the Ricoh for the first goalscorer to be Lukas?
