Much of the attention in the January transfer window, in terms of Coventry City players being wanted elsewhere, was set to be on Jodi Jones after his blistering start to the season in League Two.

A serious injury has put paid to that, of course, with Jones out for the remainder of the campaign but one of the key men behind the Sky Blues impressive defensive record is in demand according to reports on Tuesday.

The Coventry Telegraph looks at rumours that Rod McDonald, who dropped into the basement division in the summer, could be set for a return to League One very quickly.

Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons are thought to be interested in the central defender, an imposing presence in a City back line that has been so mean throughout the season to date.

With over a year left on his contract and a promotion place still up for grabs, the 25-year-old would perhaps be an unlikely candidate to leave at this stage and seems to be relishing the chance to play for one of the ‘bigger’ clubs in the bottom two divisions.
