Coventry City host Ipswich Town on Saturday and although the Sky Blues are hoping to end a run of home games without a win, it is the visitors who are under more pressure going into the fixture.

Jim Magilton is under growing pressure at Portman Road after an inconsistent start to the season was compounded by defeat in the recent East Anglian derby clash at Norwich.

‘I know we must do better. The players I brought in have had time to settle now. They now know about me and this club – and where we want to go. Now is the time to produce,’ Magilton told the Evening Star.

‘There is no reason for excuses any more, and we must rise another notch. We are aware that we haven’t been firing on all cylinders on the field where it matters.

‘When we had a run of one defeat in 12 league games we were still in-between and not performing with the confidence I would like to see.’

Captain Gareth McAuley is confident he will be fit for the match, which is scheduled to be refereed by Premier League whistler Rob Styles.

The odds of a penalty being awarded during the 90 minutes currently stand at 21/10.
