Hull City manager Phil Brown has urged his side to up their game still further at Coventry City on Saturday as they look to build on last weekend’s excellent win over Birmingham City.

‘It will be a very difficult test for us and a very different one from the Birmingham game,’ he said.

‘With Iain Dowie in charge now, they will be raising their performances by 10 or 15 per cent – that is often the impact of a new manager.

‘And we will have to match that. It will be a big ask after how we performed against Birmingham, but it’s one we’ll have to rise to.’

  • I believe hull have the team to beat coventry if we turn up on the day, if our team plays badly you stand a chance. Good luck but do us a favour and let us win,we need the points more 🙂 (Hull Fan)

  • I forgot to mention, Dowie is a good manager. You’ll do well under him. I was dissappointed as were many fans when he turned us down. But now we have brown and we’ll give you a good game at least

  • Hope you stay up mate but the Sky Blues do need a few more points yet to be completely safe themselves.

  • I’m glad we didn’t get Dowie – I’d rather have Phil Brown 🙂 based on what he has done so far.

  • As I said on Vital Hull I think it will be a very close game although if I had to go for a scoreline I would say 2-1 to the sky blues.I think Hull will survive the drop though and it will be Leeds,Barnsley and either Luton,Qpr or us that go down.Up the Shrimpers.

  • ps..I didn’t mean Barnsley I meant Leeds,Luton and either us or Qpr.
Good luck Sky blues with your new management.I think you will do well with Dowie.

  • I have seen all of those teams this season and if that is anything to go on I think Hull will make it
