A Sky Blues fightback from two goals down at Molineux on Saturday added to the pressure on Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle as he saw his side’s play-off hopes all but ended.

The home side were two goals to the good before Stern John and Gary McSheffrey earned Coventry a point.

Hoddle said afterwards: ‘We did enough to win the game today but it didn’t happen for us and that’s been the story of our season.

‘It’s too soon for post mortems though because there are still games left to play.

‘Some of our play was good in the first half and at 2-0 up we should have put Coventry to bed but we missed glorious chances to score more goals.

‘By half-time it was 2-1 and I told the players we’d have to show plenty of character to go out there and do it all again – but we didn’t get anywhere near.’
