Bottom of the table Crewe Alexandra host Coventry City tomorrow desperate for three points to give them a chance of avoiding relegation.

The Sky Blues though still have an outside chance of making the play-offs and are in excellent form, something that Crewe manager Dario Gradi is all too aware of.

He told his club’s official website: ‘When I went to watch them, Dele (Adebola) looked very good. He will be a test for Madjid Bougherra because I don’t think he would have faced anyone quite like Dele.

‘We know how good he can be on his day and you always have to watch him carefully.’

Adebola began his career with Crewe in 1993 and played for them 152 times before a move to Birmingham in 1998, scoring 41 goals.

Gradi added: ‘The lad McSheffrey has always been a threat to us whenever we have played Coventry.

‘They also have Stern John, so you can see how strong they are in an attacking sense.’
