Saturday`s meeting between Yeovil Town and Coventry City is the first ever meeting between the two and begins what Sky Blues` supporters are hoping will be the start of the long climb back towards the Championship.

Andy Thorn, who completed the signing of Steven Jennings on a free transfer 48 hours prior to the game to make it nine signings during pre-season, knows that his side are there to be shot at as a former Premier League club with Gary Johnson`s Glovers the first to roll up their sleeves and look to claim a notable scalp.

City`s away form was well documented as the worst among the 92 clubs last season but, discarding the final day defeat at Southampton when the hosts were looking to secure promotion and the Sky Blues were already relegated, the last two months of the campaign did see us pick up a win at Hull as well as draws at Burnley, Watford and Cardiff.

Yeovil won more home games than any other side in the bottom half of League One which went a long way to ensuring their safety in the division. However they also conceded more goals at home than any other team in the whole division

BBC Somerset’s Ed Hadwin told the BBC Sport website`s League One preview that: ‘Gary Johnson has re-energised the club since his return to Huish Park in January, and has assembled a youthful, dynamic team which seems full of goals.”

James Hayter will be expected to weigh in with his share of those goals after his summer move to Somerset. He is a best-priced 7/1 to net first while City`s key striker, Cody McDonald, is a 13/2 shot.
