Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has hit out at Michael Mifsud and his advisers after ending his interest in the £1.5m.

Quoted in the Coventry Telegraph, he said: ‘Mifsud, his representative and lawyers took negotiations to a new level that I have never seen before, not in terms of finances necessarily, but in the way they were conducting business.

‘In my opinion, it wasn’t very professional and certainly not respectful of this football club.

‘Although they might be very good players, if their personality isn’t right they will let you down in the end.’

The Maltese star is now in limbo, with Chris Coleman having made his plans for the new season on the basis of losing the ‘Mosquito’.
