David McNamee has stepped up his training regime after recovering from his long-term hamstring injury.
A new deal is on the table for the classy right-back if he proves he can stay fit.
He told the Coventry Telegraph: ‘My target now is to get out on the training field and show the manager that I am fit enough to earn a contract extension, and the sooner I can do that the better.
‘It is perhaps asking a bit too much to be involved in a game between now and the end of the season, particularly given the situation we are in – and the last thing I want is for it to go again because the stats say that if you come back too early there is a 70-80 per cent chance that it will recur.’
