Instead of the fixtures in the Premier league being as they were on Wednesday and Tuesday would it not have helped the travelling away fan to have had the following games;
Aston Villa v West Brom
Liverpool v Bolton
Chelsea v Pompey
Spurs v West Ham
Blackburn v Everton
Hull v Middlesboro
Newcastle v Sunderland
Man U v Wigan
Stoke v Man City
Arsenal v Fulham
Then the supporters of Portsmouth wouldn’t have had 500 mile return trip to Anfield and Wigan fans would have avoided a trip to Fulham and West Ham would have been spared the long haul to Old Trafford.
The Championship fixture arrangements are just as bad with the followers of Sheffield United, Reading, Blackpool, Watford and Plymouth all being spared 400 mile trips and more.
Where possible mid week games should be as close as possible with probably a two hour journey as maximum for the fans.

What a great idea.. It makes sense… Everybody would love it.. it would ease traffic congestion… but there’s not a chance in hell they would ever consider it… sometimes the simple is so obvious.
Not forgetting that fixtures are determined three years in advance by cold hearted souls! Who say QPR at Blackpool, Tuesday night, they’ll love it!
