Former Sky Blues’ youngster Dean Kiely is looking forward to Saturday’s FA Cup clash with current club West Bromwich Albion.
“I signed as an apprentice at 16 and signed as a pro` for Coventry in October 87, the season after they won the cup,” he told the Express and Star.
“We had a sweepstake at Lilleshall at the National School and I won £20 on Clive Allen scoring the first goal and then Coventry went onto win so it was a happy day all-round.’
West Brom’s main focus is on getting promoted back to the Premier League but Kiely added: “I am up for the cup.
‘I don`t think in my career I have prioritised games and think ‘one is a good game, one I`m not bothered about.` I am up for everything.’
