Andy Thorn is pleased that a sensible decision has been made over his young players Jordan Clarke and Nathan Cameron, both of whom were set to be named in the England Under-20 squad for the upcoming World Cup in Colombia.

With the pair set to play a key role in a Sky Blues squad stretched to the limit by summer departures and lack of funds for new players, Thorn faced the propsect of losing the starlets for up to six weeks of the season.

A plea to England boss Brian Eastick however has resulted in Clarke and Cameron being told they will be staying in Coventry rather than jetting off to South America.

‘Bearing in mind the numbers we have got, we couldn`t afford to let them go, end of story,’ the Ricoh Arena boss told the Coventry Telegraph.
