‘I can`t use him at the moment because he`s a passenger and I need all the help I can get with everyone pulling in the right direction.’

Andy Thorn makes it clear to the Coventry Telegraph why Freddy Eastwood will no longer be considered for selection and has been told he can leave the Ricoh Arena if he finds a new club.

Having been sent away for intensive fitness training the striker still hasn’t come up to the mark that Thorn needs to include him in his matchday thoughts.

While City supporters will back Thorn to the hilt on this issue (and many others) there is only so much the manager and the club can do.

Having effectively been assessed as not being able to carry out his employment duties, Eastwood, as a footballer and thus a protected species, is under no obligation to leave until next summer and can carry on picking up his not inconsiderable wages until then.
