Freddy Eastwood has joined former club Southend United on a loan deal until the end of the season when his Coventry City contract expires.

The striker will look to re-ignite his career at the club where he made his name as a prolific goalscorer, earning a move to Wolves and then on to the Ricoh Arena in 2008.

Out of the Sky Blues picture for much of the campaign after exasperating manager Andy Thorn with his lack of fitnesss, Eastwood leaves City with a record of 17 league goals from 113 games (72 starts and 41 substitute appearances).
