Michael Doyle has agreed a new contract at the Ricoh Arena.

The 24-year-old former Celtic midfielder was set to become a free agent in the summer and Coventry manager Micky Adams said: ‘It was no secret I wanted to keep Michael at the club as he’s an integral part of my plans here.

‘There isn’t a player in the Championship who can match him in terms of work-rate and at only 24, he has many years ahead of him.’

Doyle has made 138 appearances since joining City in 2003.
