Dowie upbeat after draw

Iain Dowie was left fairly satisfied by his side’s 2-2 draw in their opening pre-season fixture against Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday night.

‘I thought we started very sluggishly but after 15 minutes we got into our stride, passed the ball and controlled the middle part of the game,’ said the Sky Blues supremo, who picked out new man Ellery Cairo for special praise.

‘But then with so many changes late on we started to give the ball away cheaply, so that was disappointing.’
