Speaking at the club’s awards dinner on Wednesday night, Coventry City manager Iain Dowie gave his response to talk that he could resign if new investment was not forthcoming.

‘I would like to put on record that me and my staff are privileged to be ensconced at the club and are determined to take Coventry City were they need to go,’ he said.

‘I’m under no illusions as to the size of the task but I believe we can achieve good things at this club.

‘We do need investment but whatever happens I can guarantee that no stone will be left unturned and we will provide a fit and entertaining team.

‘No opposition will ever outfight a Coventry City side next season.’
