Coventry City manager Iain Dowie wants to get back to winning ways in front of the Sky Blues fans against Preston on Saturday.

‘We need to make sure we bounce back with a big performance and remind our home fans that we are capable of playing good football like we did at Derby,’ he said.

‘For those that didn’t go to Pride Park their last memory will be the game against QPR.

‘Before that we had four straight wins at home and we achieved that through playing good football and we want to get back to that way of playing at the Ricoh Arena.’

Dowie added: ‘I am a great fan of (Preston boss) Paul Simpson. He is a great coach who has done a good job carrying on the great work that Billy Davies did before him.

‘I hope they go up but they have hit a blip recently in losing their last two games and we are looking to further dent their play-off bid on Saturday.’
