Dowie on defeat

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie defended his side’s commitment to the cause but admitted there were major mistakes in the 4-0 defeat at Blackpool.

‘We dominated for long periods with 10 men but despite good possession, poor defending and a lack of discipline let us down,’ he said.

‘It was four poor goals as far as we’re concerned but I can’t fault our commitment, we were down to the bare 16 but now we have a chance to turn things around.’
