Coventry City’s standout signing of last summer at a cost of £1.2m when purchased from Wolves, Freddy Eastwood endured a tough season in front of goal even if his effort and workrate kept him in credit with those in the Ricoh Arena stands.

A return of just 4 league goals played a large part in an overall Sky Blue total of just 47 in 46 games but with no new signings as yet, the focus will be firmly on Freddy in the coming weeks as City embark on their pre-season friendlies.

New assistant manager Steve Harrison has been tasked with getting the Wales international back to his free-scoring best and told the Coventry Telegraph: ‘It is a challenge and we have to ask the player, what can we do, what do you think we need?

‘We can start there and then have a look at some of the video clips and say what about this, what about that, and let’s have an afternoon on that.

‘Whether he will say, ‘I have got an appointment with my financial adviser,’ or whoever, like a lot of them do, I don’t know, but it should be football first.

‘Every player is a challenge and I have always believed that if you can inside a player’s brain, you are winning.’
