Difficult group for Malta & Mifsud

As the World Cup qualifying groups were held up yesterday, Michael Mifsud’s country find themselves in a quite difficuilt group.

Malta were drawn with Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary and Albania in Group 1 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In previous years Malta have never won against Sweden or Portugal.

Against Denmark, Malta once won 3-0 in a friendly match while against Hungary, they triumphed 2-1 in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

So all in all, it’s a quite difficult group for the Maltese team.
