Coventry City caretaker manager Adrian Heath is delighted with the way Colin Hawkins has adapted to life in the Championship and also has Robert Page and Che Bunce battling for a start in the centre of defence against Cardiff on Saturday.

‘I have been really pleased with Colin Hawkins who has been terrific in the two games and I thought he was better at Sunderland than in the home game,’ said Heath.

‘He’s getting more training in and that will stand him in good stead.’

New Zealand international Bunce has also impressed in training, with Heath saying: ‘Che certainly looks the part.

‘He’s big and uncompromising and it is another body that we will probably need between now and the end of the season.’

Skipper Page meanwhile is back in contention after his training ground row with Michael Doyle.
