The drip, drip, drip of information regarding Coventry City’s future continues to keep fans on tenterhooks as the battle to stop the club going into administration continues.

Speaking to the Telegraph on Tuesday afternoon, director Joe Eliott admitted that the emphasis has now changed to finding investors to help the club in the short-term rather than taking it over, Ricoh Arena and all.

‘We have got to look at the football club first to ensure its existence, and any possible purchase of the Arena can come afterwards because we all want to keep the club away from administration,’ he said.

‘We are looking for someone to take a gamble to ensure Iain Dowie has the opportunity to take the club forward and get into the Premier League.’
