Wednesday’s Coventry Telegraph makes bad reading for all Sky Blues fans as chairman Joe Elliott admits the club has reached ‘crisis point’.

Despite Geoffrey Robinson agreeing to work with Ray Ranson’s consortium rather than continuing with a rival bid, the Ranson deal has not found favour with the Co-op bank.

Players wages for the end of the month have to be found and on gates of 14,000 that is not looking likely.

‘We are at crisis point,’Elliott told the Telegraph

‘The clock was always ticking and we are negotiating hard and doing our very best to make things happen.’
