Coventry City begin February with a scheduled League One fixture at ‘home’ to Walsall on Saturday afternoon, although poor recent weather put paid to Northampton’s game at Sixfields in midweek and left the Sky Blues fixture in some doubt with an early-morning pitch inspection planned.

Steven Pressley’s side go into the game still tantalisingly in reach of a play-off place but still in need of points to keep them away from the choppy waters of the relegation zone, their 10-point penalty still weighing heavily on a squad who have given their all throughout the season.

City, however, were boosted by the arrival of new signings Nathan Delfouneso, Dylan McGeouch and Rory Donnelly ahead of the transfer deadline after the departure of Leon Clarke to Wolves.

Walsall head into the game occupying the final play-off place and having registered a 5-1 win on their last away outing at Notts County last Saturday.

Update The match has fallen victim to a waterlogged pitch and will be rescheduled for a later date.
