First up this week was the not too unexpected news that Guilluame Beuzelin had left the club, with the Sky Blues deciding not to take up their option of a further year’s deal for the French midfielder.

With chairman Ray Ranson confirming that talks on incoming transfer were still progressing behind the scenes, some new names entered the frame alongside summer-long targets Jermaine Beckford and Andrew Driver.

Andrew Davies is a central defender and potential replacement for departed skipper Scott Dann.

The 24-year-old moved to Stoke City from Southampton last summer but made only a handful of appearances for the Premier League newcomers and was loaned out to Preston earlier this year.

Similarly, Hull City striker Caleb Folan was used sparingly by his club last season but has broken into the Repuplic of Ireland set-up and like Davies, fits the Sky Blues profile in terms of his age.

Random rumour of the week saw Yann Kermorgant, a striker with Stade de Reims, also linked with a move to the Ricoh Arena.
