Pre-season is already upon us!

Coventry City report back for training on Monday and already have three new faces in their squad.

Vital Coventry looks here at who might be joining them.

David Bell – The Sky Blues have made an offer for the Luton midfielder and left the ball firmly in the Hatters’ court. Chairman Ray Ranson confirmed recently that an increased bid will not be forthcoming.

Carlos Bocanegra – Released by Fulham at the end of last season, the USA international has this week joined French club Rennes.

Neil Eardley – Highly-rated and versatile, Oldham Athletic’s 19-year-old Wales international has been linked with City this summer.

Freddy Eastwood – Reports linking City with the Wolves striker have been circulating throughout the summer and now a deal looks close.

Chris Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph this week: “It is nice to get three new players over the line, particularly as we haven`t even kicked a ball in pre-season yet.

But we can`t stop there. We still have a lot of rebuilding to do because this club wants to be in the Premier League.’

Anthony Gerrard – The young Walsall player could follow in the footsteps of former team-mates Dan Fox and Scott Dann according to recent reports.

David McNamee – McNamee wouldn’t be a new signing but the Scot will effectively be on trial at Coventry City in pre-season as Chris Coleman decides whether the classy but injury-prone right-back will get a new contract.

Glen Southam – Dagenham & Redbridge’s highly-rated midfielder has been linked with the Sky Blues and this week handed in a transfer request.

Daggers boss John Still said: ‘It’s my policy, and that of the club, that we don’t stand in the way of a player who wants to progress his career.
