A very quiet week on the transfer front with the Sky Blues away in Switzerland and the signing of Freddy Eastwood having been completed last week. Here’s an update on some of the players linked with City this summer.

David Bell – The midfielder, subject of a bid from the Sky Blues at the start of the summer, is poised to join Norwich City after the entire Luton Town squad was put up for sale.

Dean Leacock – Derby County manager Paul Jewell is experimenting with Leacock, usually a centre-half, in a defensive midfield role, something that could bring Robbie Savage’s short spell at Pride Park to an end.

Glenn Loovens – Cardiff City have turned down what they termed a ‘derogatory’ bid from Rangers for the Dutch defender.

Clinton Morrison – The Republic of Ireland striker is in Switzerland with the Sky Blues and is set to be offered a contract on his return.

Stephen Wright – Ex-Liverpool and Sunderland man Wright has done enough during his trial with City to get a contract offer from Chris Coleman and with the departure of David McNamee looks poised to fill the right-back slot next season.
