Coventry City faced Peterborough United in the Championship on Saturday afternoon looking to continue the recent good form that saw them move out of the relegation zone last weekend.

The Sky Blues had a head start on closest rivals Bristol City who featured in the late kick-off at Nottingham Forest and returned to the Ricoh Arena in high spirits following the breaking of their awayday duck at Hull.

Darren Ferguson’s Posh went into the game looking safe following their victory over Leicester which gave them a 10-point gap on the danger zone.

And it was the visitors who took an early lead through Sinclair only for City to roar back, goals from McDonald and McSheffrey with a penalty handing them a half-time lead.

Both sides contributed to an entertaining game and Posh got what they will feel was just reward as Sinclair netted his second of the game with 14 minutes remaining.

The Sky Blues end with a point, the value of which will only be known after Bristol City, now two points behind, take on Nottingham Forest in the late kick-off.

Reaction to follow on Vital Coventry.
