Chris Coleman felt Nicky Maynard should not have had the chance to fire in a superb equaliser for Bristol City in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Ricoh Arena.
‘Take nothing away from the strike,’ he said. ‘But we felt the referee should have blown up for handball twice in the build-up.’
While happy enough with the point, which stopped a losing run of two for the Sky Blues, Coleman was left to rue going in at half-time just one goal up after an excellent first 45 minutes.
Opposite number Gary Johnson admitted: ‘I wasn’t happy at half-time because I hadn’t seen our pattern – there was too much kick and rush.
‘But I thought it was better in the second.’
