On Sky

The Sky Blues face two of last season’s promoted sides within the space of a week, looking to haul themselves up into the promotion race after an inconsistent start to the season.

Colchester though will provide stern opposition after an excellent run of form, culminating in last week’s 4-0 hammering of Sheffield Wednesday.

Vital Quotes:

Mikkel Bischoff after a reserve team runout in midweek: ‘I played at right-back for part of the game, as well as centreback, so it was a little bit of an experimental match.

‘I have played there before, although I am more comfortable at centre-back, but I am more than happy to play there if the manager wants me to.’

Jay Tabb: ‘It’s not ideal for us for Colchester to be coming off the back off a good result against Sheffield Wednesday but we know Colchester are a good team.

‘I played against them last season and a few times throughout my career and I think I’ve managed to score four goals against them so hopefully it would be nice to get another one and open my account for Coventry.’

Colchester boss Geraint Williams: ‘It’s down to hard work.

‘The rest of the staff are working hard and the players have never given less than 100 percent.

‘It’s a pleasure to work with them.’

Coventry City Team News:

Marcus Hall and David McNamee are both out injured but Mikkel Bischoff could make his debut after a reserve team game in midweek.

Player to watch: Leon McKenzie

Set to start his first game at the Ricoh Arena and will be looking to open his account for the Sky Blues.

Colchester United Team News:

Richard Garcia’s one-game suspension is not until next weekend so he is free to play.

Player to watch: Jamie Cureton

In good goalscoring form at the moment and has been a thorn in City’s side in the past.
