Right-back is the only area of the pitch that Coventry City are not well covered for at present so maybe it was inevitable that David McNamee should be their major injury doubt going into the new season.
The Scot limped off during Tuesday’s friendly against Espanyol leaving Iain Dowie with no recognised cover in that position.
The coffers are empty for new signings so a loan deal looks the most likely ahead of the big kick-off next weekend.
