Coventry City travel to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday still looking for their first away victory of a season that looks increasingly likely to end up with relegation.

And their bid for success on their travels will be severely tested by a Reading side who were very busy in the January transfer window and who still harbour hopoes not only of a play-off place but also of finishing in the top two.

Manager Brian McDermott told the Reading Chronicle: ‘Look at the squad, in the last 22 games we’re top of the league.

‘We took four points from the first 18 available, but we’re top of the league since then. We’re going in the right direction, The boys are doing really well.’

Andy Thorn meanwhile has a number of defensive injury headaches ahead of the game but would still prefer to be bringing in a striker if possible with the Sky Blues now in need of wins, and plenty of them to escape from the mire.
