Leeds United will listen to offers for Jermaine Beckford after their top goalscorer decided not to sign a new Elland Road contract.

The 25-year-old has been linked with Coventry City in recent weeks.

Leeds chief executive Shaun Harvey told his club’s website: ‘The offer we made is very good, but he has exercised his right to turn it down.

‘We always look to retain our most effective players, but only within appropriate financial parameters.’
