City still on course to open Globe Arena

Coventry City fans will get the chance to tick off another ground when the Sky Blues are the first visitors to the new Globe Arena one week from now for a League Cup clash with Morecambe.

The 1st Round tie will mark the opening of the Shrimps new stadium barring any last-minute hitches.

Mark Dixon, commercial director, last week told The Visitor: ‘The lads working on it are confident and the club is working closely with them.

‘There is someone on site from Morecambe FC constantly to make sure issues that crop up are dealt with.

‘No-one was more frustrated than (the board) when we had to delay the opening but August 10 was always going to be the first competitive game of the season and that’s still the same.’
