All quiet on the Coventry City front during the international break but a fair bit of turmoil up at the Riverside Stadium it seems.

Saturday 4th December is the date that Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan should be returning to Coventry to face the club where he began his managerial career but will the Scot still be in the hotseat by then?

Having taken his time in the second-half of last season to take stock of the players at his disposal, Strachan embarked on a busy summer of transfer activity, heavily slanted towards purchases from his old Glasgow stomping ground on both sides of the Old Firm divide.

But the likes of Kris Boyd and Barry Robson have so far failed to inspire the expected promotion charge and criticism has started to come in from former players and fans alike.

“Steve Gibson will have the gun in his drawer,’ ex-strike star Bernie Slaven told the Evening Gazette.

“He may not have loaded the bullets but he will do if thinks he needs to.”
