Two of the sides in and around Coventry City in the Championship table will have new managers in charge when they get back to action after the international break.

Nottingham Forest, the next visitors to the Ricoh Arena on 15 October, have parted company with Steve McClaren after a dismal start to the season. The former England manager walked away from the City Ground on Sunday in the wake of a 3-1 defeat by Birmingham City but had been tipped to leave anyway after falling out with the Reds hierarchy over transfers.

What looked to be an ambitious appointment by Forest of a manager keen to restore his reputation back on home soil went awry almost from the start as McClaren found himself voicing the same frustrations as Billy Davies, his predecessor in the hotseat.

Bristol City meanwhile, who make a Boxing Day visit to CV6, have axed Keith Millen.

The Ashton Gate boss had been under pressure due to poor results and his fate was sealed by Saturday’s 5-0 hammering at Blackpool.
